In a recent update, Environment Canada has issued urgent weather alerts for Muskoka and Grey Bruce, warning of the potential for an additional foot of snow and decreased visibility in certain areas.

The warning specifically covers Grey and Bruce counties, encompassing locations such as the Bruce Peninsula, Sauble Beach, Tobermory, Owen Sound, the Blue Mountains, and Northern Grey County. Residents in these areas should prepare for significant snowfall, with accumulations of up to 30 centimetres expected by Wednesday morning.

The focal points for the heaviest snowfall are projected to be north of Owen Sound and south of Lion's Head. However, the region may experience lingering lake-effect snow squalls through Wednesday.

Heading north, areas including Parry Sound, Rosseau, and Killbear Park are also under an Environment Canada warning, forecasting 15 to 25 centimetres on Tuesday and an additional 20 to 40 centimetres overnight.

Meanwhile, in Muskoka, specifically in Port Carling, Port Severn, Huntsville, and Baysville, a snow squall watch has been issued. Anticipated snowfall in these areas is estimated to reach 30 to 40 centimetres by Wednesday.

Considering the challenging weather conditions, non-essential travel is strongly discouraged. Stay updated with Environment Canada's alerts and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period of intense winter weather.
